Sizewell was the venue for Braintree Sea Angling Club’s latest evening match. The anglers were met with a stiff north easterly onshore breeze to test their casting abilities. They managed to find a few small bass with all catching at least one fish. T he winner was Paul Drake with 118 fish points. Second place went to Robin Joy with 48 fish points with Kevin Thorpe close behind on 43 fish points. With two matches left to fish in the Summer League Robin Joy is in top spot with 37 match points. Kevin Thorpe with 31 points is the only angler that can take the lead away from Robin Joy. Paul Drake in third place with 20 points.
Dunwich bay with a cloud free sky and flat calm sea was the venue for Braintree Sea Angling Club’s latest evening match in the Summer League. Although the anglers appreciated the conditions it seems the fish did not as only three small smoothhounds were caught all evening. Falling to ragworm baits two of them , fish of 45cm and 40cm were caught by Paul Drake to win the match. Robin Joy had the third a fish of 43cm to take the runner up.
