Match Report – St Osyth – 31th August

The BSAC fishermen fished the latest match at St Osyth. This was the last of the Summer Evening matches and fished in clear conditions with a gentle wind coming over our shoulders making fishing relatively comfortable. The chosen venue was a long walk from the car park to avoid the snags and holidaymakers.Fishing from 6 to 11pm and with high tide at approx. 9pm the intrepid fished 3 hours up and 2 down, weed becoming more of a problem on the ebb but nothing to stop a few fish being landed. The catch was mainly bass and eels, which came steadily throughout the evening, together with a flounder, rockling and a 44cm garfish. Looks like a first from a beach on a ledger rig? Most fish were caught on rag with a few to lug and crab baits.  Paul took 1st place with a catch of Bass, eels and flounder, Kevin 2nd place with 2 bass and a garfish and Robin 3rd with a eels and a bass.Pot Kettle Black

Then came the long walk back to the car park with Robin in fine spirits as the 2013 Summer League winner. Well done Robin
