With reports of codling being caught all along the Essex and Suffolk coast Braintree Sea Angling Club members arrived at Felixstowe with high expectations. Catches consisted mainly of pin whiting and Barrie Senior found twenty four of them which together with a rockling and a nice sole of 33cm gave him 277 fish points to win the match. Second place went to Paul Drake with a catch of twenty two whiting and a pout for 197 fish points. Robin Joy’s codling eased him into 3rd spot with 182 fish points just ahead of Alan who had 176 fish points.
