Braintree Sea Angling Club members took the ferry from Orford across to the island for their latest match. With the news that the herring shoals had arrive hopes of numbers of cod were not high. From the start it was whiting and more whiting that were taking the lug and squid baits. By the end of the day Chris Leonard had caught 46 counting whiting, a small codling, 4 dabs and a pout for 622 fish points. Second place went to Chris Bull with 563 points from 50 whiting, 1 dab, and 1 pout, he also had the largest whiting a 35cm fish. Robin Joy took third spot with 27 whiting for 267 points.
