Braintree Sea Angling Club members fished their first evening charter boat match of the year re-arranged from March due to bad weather. This time the weather cooperated and provided a fine evening out from West Mersea on the boat Enterprise. Fishing was steady with thornback rays and dogfish coming aboard throughout the trip. With a closely fought contest it was Club Secretary Chris Leonard who took the honours with four dogfish, six thornbacks a whiting and a bonus tub gurnard for 101 points. Second place went to Barrie Senior with 90 points from his catch of five dogfish and six thornbacks. Colin Crocker came in third with three dogfish and three thornbacks for 80 points.
Only two anglers recording fish. First was Robin Joy with four school bass for 87 points and Paul Drake with six pout and one school bass for 76 points.
