Match Report – Aldeburgh – 7th November – 2nd leg

Braintree Sea Angling Club members returned to Aldeburgh to fish the second leg of the Mick Allen shield.  The rain stopped just as the anglers arrived  at the beach and the wind though strong had had gone more westerly so casting was easier than anticipated. Fish were caught regularly throughout the evening mainly whiting  with some dabs and dogfish amongst them the only cod being caught by Robin Joy.  At the end of the session Barrie Senior took the match with 772 fish points from his catch of 44 whiting, 7 dabs, 2 dogfish and a rockling.  Paul Drake, winner of the first leg, was in second place with 50 whiting and a pout for 600 fish points.  Third place went to Chris Leonard with 575 fish points from 33 whiting, 6 dabs and a dogfish. Over the two legs Paul’s total of 18 match points just edged out Barrie Senior by one point to take the cup. Third place over the two matches was Chris Leonard with 15 points.
