Match Report – St Osyth – 10th April

Thornback rays were the target species for members of Braintree Sea Angling Club when they travelled to St Osyth for their latest match. With large clumps of seaweed from the start and an onshore wind that increased significantly throughout the day the fishing was hard. No rays were caught by the Braintree anglers although an angler further up the beach had one. Paul Hart won the match with 14 whiting and 2 dabs for 122 fish points. Second place went to Barrie Senior with 93 points from his catch of 9 whiting, a dab and a flounder. Chris Leonard took third place with a dogfish and a whiting for 80 points.
