Gerry Armstrong Memorial Open Boat Match
BSAC GAM open match finally went ahead
"just", the forecast was for the high winds to drop later in the day so
with a 1 hour delay and a restriction of 1 ½ miles, the 9 boats left
Felixstowe trying to find shelter in the lee of the land.
With all the anglers managing to find sizeable codling and small
whiting, the result could not have been closer. 1st was Glyn Thomas of
BSAC with the biggest codling at 3lb.12 oz, Glyn was fishing on board
Vixen and won the cash prize of £200.00. The other cash prize winner of
£50.00 was Eddie Thomson with a 1lb.41/2 oz whiting who was fishing on
board Optimist. Due the generosity of our Sponsors, members and
competitors there were a large number of raffle prizes on offer and most
of the competitors took home a prize to go with their fish.
