Braintree Sea Angling Club supports the raising of the Bass Minimum Landing Size (MLS) to 45 cm.

The Club membership voted unanimously at it's recent AGM to adopt the 45 cm MLS as a progressive move towards 'sustainable recreational sea angling'.

All members of the club respect the environment and strive to ensure that it is protected to ensure we can continue to enjoy our pastime.

It is part of the club ethos to ensure that

  • Undersized fish are return securely, safely and as soon as possible
  • When we leave a venue it is clean and tidy - We endeavor to leave it cleaner than when we arrived!
  • Unwanted tackle is disposed of safely
  • We sponsor all initiatives to ensure fish stocks i.e. SACN
  • As a club we continually review our size limits and use size limits greater than the MAF or NFSA recommendations in many instances.
  • All marine speed limits are observed

Initiatives and sites we support:
