AreialReefs_at_sea_palling_1998.jpg
Sea Palling33 viewsReefs built to protect the dunes and original sea wall have in turn produced some sheltered lagoons that provide fantastic fishing. Bass, Mullet and Smoothounds are caught throughout the summer in the sheltered waters inside the reefs. During calm spells the water quickly clears to enable spinning for bass. Night-Dusk/Dawn fishing is best. The bottom is clean sand and with little current run 2 to 4oz weight are all that is required. Casting between the reefs requires larger weight's to hold bottom. Winter fishing is also good with whiting during calmer spells and codling when there's a surf running. Also, the chance of a late bass.
