Match Report – Aldeburgh – 7th February – Jimmy Turner Shield

Aldebugh was the venue for Braintree Sea Angling Club latest match fishing for the Jimmy Turner Shield. A strong gusty south westerly wind had stirred the sea up giving it plenty of colour but made casting difficult. Fishing the last of the flood and four hours of the ebb dabs were the prime target but it was pin whiting that made up the majority of the catches although many did not make the minimum size limit. Barrie Senior took the shield with his catch of 38 whiting and 14 dabs for 455 fish points. Runner up was Robin Joy with 246 points from 21 whiting, 2 dabs and a pout. Third place went to Paul Hart with 239 points, 20 whiting, 7 dabs and a rockling.
